Inspiration Awards Winner!
On the 20th June, I had the incredible privilege of attending the MK Inspiration Awards – an evening dedicated to celebrating the people, businesses and organisations making a positive difference across Milton Keynes.
The awards recognise individuals who go above and beyond to inspire others, support their communities and create meaningful change. To simply be shortlisted amongst so many amazing people felt like an achievement in itself.
I was honoured to be nominated in not one, but two categories: Inspiring Role Model and Inspiring Fundraiser.
To then hear my name announced as the winner for Inspiring Fundraiser was a moment I'll never forget.
The award means so much because it isn't just recognition of what I've been through—it's recognition of what I've chosen to do afterwards.
Following my own cancer diagnosis and treatment, I knew I wanted to turn one of the hardest chapters of my life into something that could help others. That's how Chemo & Co was born. What started as a journal designed to support people through cancer has grown into something much bigger: a mission to ensure that nobody has to face cancer feeling alone.
Alongside Chemo & Co, I've also had the privilege of working within the charity sector, supporting fundraising, organising events and helping charities reach more people in need. Giving back has become such an important part of who I am, and I'm passionate about using my experiences, skills and platform to make a genuine difference.
Winning this award has given me an even greater sense of purpose.
It's reminded me that the work I'm doing matters, and it's given me the confidence to think even bigger. Whether that's developing more resources through Chemo & Co, collaborating with charities, campaigning for change, or finding new ways to support families affected by cancer, I feel more motivated than ever to keep moving forward.
This award doesn't feel like the finish line. It feels like the beginning of an exciting new direction.
To everyone who has supported me along the way—whether you've purchased a journal, shared my story, donated to a fundraiser, worked alongside me, or simply believed in what I'm trying to achieve—thank you. Your support has played a huge part in this journey.
I'm so excited to see where the next chapter takes Chemo & Co. If this award has taught me anything, it's that one idea, born from one person's experience, really can grow into something that makes a difference.
Here's to continuing the mission, supporting more people, and helping even more charities create lasting impact.
